Twelfth Doctor Costume-trousers on a budget

The trousers in the twelfth Doctor costume are again an item that don't have to be too accurate, especially when there is some debate over the actual trousers used in the show. The original trousers, like the rest of the costume are a dark navy, a fairly attainable colour in which to find reasonably priced trousers in many good retailers. If anything, what is most important in selecting a trouser for this costume is choosing the right fit. Capaldi's trousers are certainly a slim fit, hugging his boots at the ankle. Again, like with the cardigan I haven't done a great deal of searching for an exact match of colour, but here are two pairs that may prove to be worthy alternatives.
This Slim Fit pair by Farah but sold by Slaters seem to be a fairly similar colour and of the right fit, whilst appealing to those on a budget at a sale price of just £16, down from £30. It is difficult if not impossible to gauge how close they appear to the actual trousers worn looking at pictures alone, because even the official photos vary in colour from website to website. In darker promotional pictures theses trousers appear very close to the real thing, whereas in lighter versions of these photographs they appear not to be as navy/purple as they should. Either way, the only way to find out is to buy these trousers and see how they look, but I would definitely recommend these trousers for those on a budget, especially at their current price.
Again, as with the cardigan, Next offer a decent alternative to the costume trousers. They offer a wide range of trouser styles and colours, but their machine washable Navy trousers in slim fit (plain front) are the ones to go for. Again, the colour is not quite right, but at £20 they have to be considered for those on a budget. I cannot see how the colour would really look in real life, as the Next display photographs vary in colour from picture to picture, but I would suggest ordering them and returning them if they aren't quite the right colour. Note here that the picture shows the trouser colour and style, not the fit.
There is however another, much cheaper way to get the Capaldi trouser look on a budget: Use any pair of black or navy smart trousers! At the end of the day if you already have a smart pair of trousers in either of these colours, what's the point in wasting money on another pair just for a costume???? I suggest this option, especially if your budget is very tight, however the trousers shown here will be suitable for most Capaldi-imitators and their tight budgets.
